Food Control Plan - The What, Which and How

Your Food control Plan (FCP) is a blueprint for your business that lays out how you keep your food safe. 

 

It is everything you need to have under the Food Act 2014 in one place.

You use your FCP to identify risks and to show how they are being managed. It is a way of informing customers that your food is safe and it can help you create a successful food business.

 

Which plan is right for you?

 

What kind of plan you need to have and how you register it depends on the type of food you make and what level of risk the production of that food poses. 

High Risk Food

Many food manufacturers will be deemed high risk and will need to develop a Custom Food Control Plan. This will be registered with the Ministry of Primary Industries.

Medium - High Risk Food

Most food service businesses (restaurants, cafes, bakeries, butchers etc) will need a Food Control Plan. This will be registered with your local council.

Medium Risk Food

Some manufacturers such as those making flour or fruit drinks may be deemed as a medium risk. These businesses are required to register as a National Programme 3 with their local council.

Medium - Low Risk Food

There are a number of food service or manufacturing businesses that pose a much lower risk to the public. These businesses are required to register with their local council under the National Programme 2.

Low Risk Food

Businesses that sell manufacturer packaged foods are considered the lowest risk. These businesses are required to register under the National Programme 1 with their local council.

Food Control Plans with your business in mind

With our FCP Package we cut through the confusion and ensure you get it right the first time. We have your FCP built, registered, trained and delivered to your door. Wherever you are in New Zealand, we can help.

Step One:

We spend approximately 2 hours with the operator and day to day manager;

  • We learn everything we need in order to develop your FCP.

  • You learn how to implement your FCP into your business.

Step Two:

Offsite we develop your FCP to be customised to fit your business, systems and menu. Your files will be delivered to your door including;

  • A 13 month Food Control Diary.

  • Printed staff training templates.

  • Cleaning and maintenance templates.

  • Food safety templates.

Step Three:

Application for registration with your local Council is completed, submitted and paid on your behalf.

*It is your responsibility to maintain FCP records on an ongoing basis to comply with The Food Act 2014.

Add Food Safety Training 

Add to your food control plan package a full staff workshop in food safety and hygiene. The session will be bespoke to your staffs needs.

 

Full package only

$1249 + gst.

 

 

Compliance Audit Check

Already have your systems in place and want them checked? We will complete a full audit of your FCP, kitchen, surrounding areas and key staff members understanding of the requirements. Comes with a full report.

 

$359 + gst.

 

Terms and conditions

All prices given are subject to change when quoting for larger or unusual projects.  Travel costs may apply for work conducted outside the Auckland region. All invoices must be paid in advance of any works or registrations being carried out by foodcontrolplans.co.nz. The above packages and prices do not include custom food control plans.
